    5-6 slide

In your presentation, address the following:

    – Explain what a game is in the text’s sense (players, strategies, payoffs).
    – Distinguish between noncooperative games (such as the airline output example) and cooperative bargaining games.
    – Describe the Nash equilibrium concept.
    – Explain how it helps account for strategic behavior in oligopolistic settings, where firms choose outputs or prices without explicit agreements.
    – Explain the Nash bargaining solution, including:
    – the ideas of efficiency
    – the disagreement (threat) point
    – surplus
    – Show how allowing binding agreements can transform a prisoners’ dilemma outcome into a mutually better bargain.
    – Apply these concepts to a real or hypothetical business situation of your choice (for example, wage bargaining between management and a union, bargaining over a merger, or negotiation between a manufacturer and retailer).
    – Explain how game theory helps managers predict rivals’ behavior, structure negotiations, and choose profit-maximizing strategies.
    – Integrate at least one figure, table, or payoff matrix (you can adapt examples from the text or construct your own) and should explicitly connect your discussion back to the terminology and logic used in Chapter 12.

You may use either health care or nursing peer-reviewed journals; however, at least half of the primary articles must come from peer-reviewed nursing journals. The peer-reviewed articles must consist of research published within the last 5 years.

Use the "HLT-494 – Literature Evaluation Table" template to document your detailed assessment of each primary study. This document helps break down the components of each article to ensure the article meets the requirements for a professional nursing paper. Ensure that each of your articles provides information that meets each criterion listed. Assess the research and provide a detailed and clear explanation how each article supports your capstone project and evidence-based practice (between five and six sentences).

    Construction

    Argument Logic and

    Construction

    0 points

    Statement of purpose is

    not justified by the

    lacks consistent unity.

    There are obvious flaws in

    the logic. Some sources

    credibility.

    3 points

    Argument is orderly, but

    may have a few

    inconsistencies. The

    argument presents

    minimal justification of

    claims. Argument logically,

    1.63 points

    Frequent and repetitive

    mechanical errors distract

    the reader. Inconsistencies

    in language choice

    (register) or word choice

    are present. Sentence

    structure is correct but not

    1.88 points

    Some mechanical errors or

    language are employed.

    2.13 points

    Prose is largely free of

    Thesis Development and

    Purpose

    Thesis Development and

    Purpose

    0 points

    Paper lacks any discernible

    overall purpose or

    organizing claim.

    2.28 points

    Thesis is insufficiently

    developed or vague.

    Purpose is not clear.

    2.63 points

    Thesis is apparent and

    appropriate to purpose.

    2.98 points

    Thesis is clear and

    forecasts the development

    of the paper. Thesis is

    descriptive and reflective

    of the arguments and

    appropriate to the

    purpose.

    3.5 points

    Thesis is comprehensive

    and contains the essence

    of the paper. Thesis

    statement makes the

    purpose of the paper clear.

    Argument Logic and

    Construction

    Argument Logic and

    Construction

    0 points

    Statement of purpose is

    not justified by the

    conclusion. The conclusion

    does not support the claim

    made. Argument is

    incoherent and uses

    noncredible sources.

    2.6 points

    Sufficient justification of

    claims is lacking. Argument

    lacks consistent unity.

    There are obvious flaws in

    the logic. Some sources

    have questionable

    credibility.

    3 points

    Argument is orderly, but

    may have a few

    inconsistencies. The

    argument presents

    minimal justification of

    claims. Argument logically,

    but not thoroughly,

    supports the purpose.

    Sources used are credible.

    Introduction and

    conclusion bracket the

    thesis.

    3.4 points

    Argument shows logical

    progression. Techniques of

    argumentation are evident.

    There is a smooth

    progression of claims from

    introduction to conclusion.

    Most sources are

    authoritative.

    4 points

    Clear and convincing

    argument presents a

    persuasive claim in a

    distinctive and compelling

    manner. All sources are

    authoritative.

    Mechanics of Writing

    Includes spelling,

    punctuation, grammar,

    language use.

    0 points

    Surface errors are

    pervasive enough that they

    impede communication of

    meaning. Inappropriate

    word choice or sentence

    construction is used.

    1.63 points

    Frequent and repetitive

    mechanical errors distract

    the reader. Inconsistencies

    in language choice

    (register) or word choice

    are present. Sentence

    structure is correct but not

    varied.

    1.88 points

    Some mechanical errors or

    typos are present, but they

    are not overly distracting

    to the reader. Correct and

    varied sentence structure

    and audience-appropriate

    language are employed.

    2.13 points

    Prose is largely free of

    mechanical errors,

    although a few may be

    present. The writer uses a

    variety of effective

    sentence structures and

    figures of speech.

    2.5 points

    Writer is clearly in

    command of standard,

    written, academic English.

    Paper Format

    Use of appropriate style for

    the major and assignment.

    0 points

    Template is not used

    appropriately, or

    documentation format is

    rarely followed correctly.

    1.63 points

    Appropriate template is

    used, but some elements

    are missing or mistaken. A

    lack of control with

    formatting is apparent.

    1.88 points

    Appropriate template is

    used. Formatting is correct,

    although some minor

    errors may be present.

    2.13 points

    Appropriate template is

    fully used. There are

    virtually no errors in

    formatting style.

    2.5 points

    All format elements are

    correct.

    Documentation of

    Sources

    Citations, footnotes,

    references, bibliography,

    etc., as appropriate to

    assignment and style.

    0 points

    Sources are not

    documented.

    1.63 points

    Documentation of sources

    is inconsistent or incorrect,

    as appropriate to

    assignment and style, with

    numerous formatting

    errors.

    1.88 points

    as appropriate to

    assignment and style,

    although some formatting

    errors may be present.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    ### Purpose

Providing our patients with information to enable them to make positive choices in their own health care is a vital role of the respiratory therapist. In this motivational interview, you will converse with a live "patient" (can be a friend, family member, colleague, etc. – it just needs to be another person) to practice these skills.

For this assignment, you will have a choice of whether to do a mock motivational interview or produce pages that describes the concepts related to motivational interviewing. With the video option, you will practice motivational interviewing as a means of participating in transactional communication with a fictitious COPD patient, which is intended to help you in future patient interactions. You will also be expected to make videos for future classes within this program (and potentially in future professional capacities, too), and practicing this skill will help to develop both proficiency and confidence. However, for those wishing to complete the page instead, this assignment offers you an opportunity to practice your academic writing skills while still engaging with the important topic of motivational interviewing. Either option is acceptable.

    ### Instructions – **Option 2**, Motivational Interviewing Assignment

Alternatively, you may write the pages about motivational interviewing.

    1. Access the **TEMPLATE linked at the bottom of the page** and save a copy as " **[Last Name] Motivational Interviewing Assignment.**"
    2. The body of the paper must be **2-3 pages in length**
    – All text should be double-spaced (throughout the entire document, not just the body of the paper)
    – This length requirement does _**NOT**_ include your title or reference pages. So with these 2 additional pages, the minimum length is more like 4-5 pages.
    3. Include the following:
    – Include a **title page**
    – Include at least **2** **headings (including Conclusion ok)**
    – Include a **minimum of 1 reference page**
    – Include a **minimum of 2 sources**
    – Include a **minimum of 1 in-text citation from** _**each**_ **source**
    – Ideally, _each paragraph_ should have at least one in-text citation (if not more like 2-4).
    – Remember that in-text citations are not just for quotes! Often the best way to cite a reference is with a parenthetical citation (Author et al., year) at the end of a sentence.
    4. Use **no more than 1** **direct quotation** for the entire assignment. You are _**not**_ _required_ to include _any_ direct quotes. In fact, it is preferred that you do _not_ use quotes.
    5. All elements of the assignment must be **formatted according to** [**APA 7th edition 'Student Paper'**](https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/apa_sample_paper.html) requirements.

    – This includes the structure and style of the title and reference pages, as well as [**headings**](https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_formatting_and_style_guide/apa_headings_and_seriation.html) and in-text citations within the body of the paper.
    – Remember that you have many APA resources available to you on the [**APA Formatting Resources**](https://boisestatecanvas.instructure.com/courses/48297/pages/apa-formatting-resources-2 "APA Formatting Resources") page, including the [**How-To Create Your Own Reference Citations**](https://boisestatecanvas.instructure.com/courses/48297/pages/how-to-create-your-own-reference-citations "How-To: Create Your Own Reference Citations") page.
    6. When you are ready to submit, **come back to this page and upload your document**.

    – **Option 1**: If you used the Word document template, this should be fairly simple. Upload your document as you would any other file.
    – **Option 2**: If you used the Google Docs template, _you will need to download a file of your document_ and then upload it here. As before, **I will** _**NOT**_ **accept a link to a Google Doc**.
