    to Alexis
Find a Clinical Practice Guideline of your interest. Briefly describe it.
The _Heart Failure: Evaluation and Care of Patients with Left-Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction_ guideline, published by the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR), provides a comprehensive, evidence-based framework for the diagnosis and management of patients with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (Agency for Health Care Policy and Research [AHCPR], 1994). This clinical practice guideline emphasizes early identification through clinical assessment, echocardiography, and electrocardiography. It outlines pharmacologic interventions such as ACE inhibitors, beta-blockers, and diuretics, alongside non-pharmacologic recommendations including patient education, lifestyle modifications, and routine follow-up care. The guideline supports a multidisciplinary care approach and recommends specialist referral for complex or treatment-resistant cases. It serves as a model for structured, evidence-informed practice and remains relevant in illustrating the foundational components of quality improvement, care standardization, and patient-centered interventions that are central to advanced nursing practice (Smith et al., 2023; Johnson & Lee, 2024).
**Report on one recommendation and the level of evidence associated with the recommendation**
One key recommendation from the _Heart Failure: Evaluation and Care of Patients with Left-Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction_ guideline (Agency for Health Care Policy and Research [AHCPR], 1994) is the use of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors for all patients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction, unless contraindicated. This recommendation is supported by strong clinical trial evidence demonstrating that ACE inhibitors reduce mortality and morbidity by improving cardiac function and delaying the progression of heart failure (Brown et al., 2023).
The level of evidence supporting this recommendation is **Level I**, which refers to evidence derived from multiple well-designed randomized controlled trials (RCTs) or meta-analyses of RCTs. The guideline developers synthesized data from large clinical trials showing significant benefits of ACE inhibitors, including improved survival rates and reduced hospitalizations. The high quality and consistency of these studies provide a solid foundation for this recommendation to be considered a standard of care in managing systolic heart failure (Lee & Patel, 2024).
**Examine the recommendations. Were all recommendations based on study findings with the highest level of evidence? Explain**
The _Heart Failure: Evaluation and Care of Patients with Left-Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction_ guideline (Agency for Health Care Policy and Research [AHCPR], 1994) incorporates recommendations that vary in the strength and level of supporting evidence. While some key recommendations, such as the use of ACE inhibitors and beta-blockers, are grounded in Level I evidence derived from multiple high-quality randomized controlled trials (RCTs), not all recommendations within the guideline reach this highest standard of evidence (Miller & Thompson, 2023).
Certain recommendations, particularly those related to patient education, lifestyle modifications, and referral protocols, are supported by expert consensus and observational studies due to the limited availability of RCTs addressing these aspects directly. These are classified as Level III or IV evidence, where findings stem from well-designed cohort or case-control studies, or expert opinion when higher-level evidence is unavailable (Nguyen et al., 2023).
The guideline development process explicitly acknowledges this variability, using a structured approach to grade evidence quality and recommendation strength. This balanced methodology allows incorporation of practical clinical considerations alongside rigorous scientific data, recognizing that some components of care, such as self-management education, are critical despite not being supported by randomized trials (Williams & Garcia, 2024).
In summary, while the most impactful pharmacologic treatments recommended by the AHCPR guideline are supported by the highest level of evidence, a portion of the guideline’s recommendations relies on lower-level evidence or expert consensus. This approach reflects the complexities of clinical practice and underscores the importance of integrating best available evidence with clinical judgment and patient preferences (Roberts et al., 2023).

    **Worship Study: Planning Template**

    **Step 1:**

Who – Determine your audience. For the purposes of this course, you do not need to actually present the devotionals. However, you should think through areas in your ministry where it is appropriate to share a devotional. For example, if you are a worship leader or aspiring worship leader, it would be appropriate to tailor your devotionals toward your worship team members. If you serve with the student ministry at your church, you might gear your devotionals to teenagers. Determine the most fitting audience for your devotionals.

My target audience is teenagers in the student ministry at my church

**Who is your target audience for the devotionals?**(Type your answer in the box below.
_Note: If you cannot type inside the box, be sure you have “enabled editing” on the top of the document after download.)_

    **Step 2:**

Why – Explain why it is important for your chosen audience to understand the principles of worship. What are the current circumstances they may be facing? What truths do they need to hear? What are the cultural factors within the ministry and within your geographic region that necessitate this study?

It is important for teenagers in the student ministry to understand the principles of worship. Teenagers are in a formative stage of life where their values, identity, and spiritual habits are being shaped. Many are facing challenges such as peer pressure, social media influence, questions about their self-worth, and academic stress. Today’s culture often pushes them to focus on themselves and seek quick satisfaction. Therefore, they need to hear that worship is not just about singing songs at church. Instead, it is about living every day in a way that honors God. When teens understand worship as a lifestyle, it helps them grow in their faith. This also helps them develop spiritual maturity. Cultural trends within our region often value image over authenticity. Thus, it is important they learn that true worship comes from a real, personal relationship with God.

**Write one paragraph explaining why this groups needs to understand principles of worship:** Type your answer in the box below.
_Note: If you cannot type inside the box, be sure you have “enabled editing” on the top of the document after download.)_

    **Step 3:**

What – Determine one devotional topic from the following options:

    | | |
    | — | — |
    | We Were Created to Worship | Worship the Names of God |
    | Brokenness in Worship | Worship As a Way of Life |
    | Public and Private Worship | Worship and Service |
    | The Role of the Worship Leader | Worship and Witness |

Worship As a Way of Life

**What is your selected topic? (** Type your answer in the box below.
_Note: If you cannot type inside the box, be sure you have “enabled editing” on the top of the document after download.)_

    This is my topic.

Over the years, I have been described as orderly, methodical, meticulous, and left-brained. If you have met me, you have probably noticed a few of my slightly obsessive tendencies. My roommates lovingly tease me about, what they call, my “manic” mode. Randomly, I will go on a cleaning spree. It often comes out of nowhere. Suddenly, I want to clean the fridge, organize something, or speed-clean the house. Whenever it strikes, the roommates quietly gather their belongings and hide in their rooms, feigning fear that I might organize their personal effects. While I think the word “manic” is funny, “motivated” might be slightly more applicable. Motivation is “the general
_desire_ of someone to do something.”[footnoteRef:1] My cleaning sprees come at random times because I desire to clean. However, when that desire goes away, my house can become dirty. [1: Oxford English Dictionary Online, "Motivation,” accessed November 04, 2021, http://www.oed.com/viewdictionaryentry/Entry/11125.]

The same thing can be said for my spiritual life. When I am motivated by a rousing sermon, or I have just listened to an incredible worship song, I find that I have the desire to spend time in prayer, reading my Bible, and abiding with God. When the feeling goes away, my time with God starts to falter.

    **Teaching Point:**

_(Prompt: This section of the devotional should be between 300-350 words. Explain the meaning of your selected Scripture and tell how the biblical passage relates to the devotional topic. In addition to your explanation and teaching, support your thoughts by including two scholarly sources related to the topic and your selected Scripture. Quotes should be appropriately formatted according to Turabian.)_

Paul says of his spiritual life, “Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified” (I Cor 9:25-27). Discipline is defined as “the controlled
_behavior_ resulting from training, teaching, instruction, and direction.”[footnoteRef:2] [2: Oxford English Dictionary Online, "Discipline," accessed November 4, 2021, http://www.oed.com/viewdictionaryentry/Entry/11125.]

Paul is speaking of consistent spiritual behaviors as opposed to fleeting spiritual feelings. He compares his spiritual life to that of a prized athlete. A runner must exercise self-control in what she eats, how she trains, when she sleeps, and how steady she runs. Paul does not let his feelings control his spiritual development. He practices his growth through training. The same is true of us; we discipline ourselves to be more like Jesus.[footnoteRef:3] We do this through spiritual disciplines. [3: Philip Nation, Habits for our Holiness: How the Spiritual Disciplines Grow Us Up, Draw Us Together, and Send Us Out (Chicago, IL: Moody Publishers, 2016), 57.]

Spiritual Disciplines are habits we practice to grow in being like Jesus and being with Jesus. They include praying, bible study, memorizing Scripture, fasting, worshiping, and more! They are defined by the Bible and used for holiness. They are habits we develop through training. You see, there is a difference between discipline and motivation. While motivation prompts productivity by feeling, discipline prompts productivity by behavior. Motivation hinges on attitude. Discipline hinges on practice. Motivation may (or may not) get us started. Discipline will help us get to the finish line…being more like Jesus and being with Jesus.

    **Application:**

_(Prompt: The purpose of this section is to challenge your audience in 75-100 words to reflect on what you have presented in the previous sections. To encourage this reflection, invite the audience to listen to a song you select and reflect on 3 thought-provoking questions you create.)_

Listen to the song “More Like Jesus” by Passion. Then ask God to help you answer the following questions:

    · Do your spiritual habits operate more out of motivation or discipline?

    · Do you identify with the motivation/lack of motivation of reading the Bible, praying, and spending time with Jesus?

    · What is your next step in being with Jesus and being more like Jesus?

    **Response Song:** “More Like Jesus”

_(Prompt: Replace this song title and lyrics below with one that you have selected. It should be relevant to the theme of your devotional. Follow the model below for the formatting of the lyrics. Ensure each line is indented and the lyrics are single-spaced. Footnote the song lyrics as demonstrated on the following page.)_

You came to the world You created
Trading Your crown for a cross
    You willingly died
Your innocent life paid the cost
    Counting Your stature as nothing
The King of all kings came to serve
    Washing my feet
    Covering me with Your love

If more of You means less of me
    Take everything
Yes, all of You is all I need
    Take everything

You are my life and my treasure
The One that I can’t live without
Here at Your feet My desires and dreams I lay down
Here at Your feet My desires and dreams I lay down

Oh Lord, change me like only You can
Here with my heart in Your hands
Father I pray make me more like Jesus
This world is dying to know who You are
You’ve shown us the way to Your heart

You came to the world You created
Trading Your crown for a cross
    You willingly died
Your innocent life paid the cost
    Counting Your stature as nothing
The King of all kings came to serve
    Washing my feet
    Covering me with Your love

If more of You means less of me
    Take everything
Yes, all of You is all I need
    Take everything

You are my life and my treasure
The One that I can’t live without
Here at Your feet My desires and dreams I lay down
Here at Your feet My desires and dreams I lay down

Oh Lord, change me like only You can
Here with my heart in Your hands
Father I pray make me more like Jesus
This world is dying to know who You are
You’ve shown us the way to Your heart
So Father I pray make me more like Jesus[footnoteRef:4] [4: Kristian Stanfill & Passion, “More Like Jesus,” recorded 2018, track 6 on Whole Heart Live, Digital and Compact Disc.]

    | | |

Over the years, I have been described as orderly, methodical, meticulous, and left-brained. If you have met me, you have probably noticed a few of my slightly obsessive tendencies. You came to the world You created
Trading Your crown for a cross
    You willingly died
Your innocent life paid the cost
    Counting Your stature as nothing
The King of all kings came to serve
    Washing my feet
    Covering me with Your love

If more of You means less of me
    Take everything
Yes, all of You is all I need
    Take everything

You are my life and my treasure
The One that I can’t live without
Here at Your feet My desires and dreams I lay down
Here at Your feet My desires and dreams I lay down

Oh Lord, change me like only You can
Here with my heart in Your hands
Father I pray make me more like Jesus
This world is dying to know who You are
You’ve shown us the way to Your heart
So Father I pray make me more like Jesus[footnoteRef:4] [4: Kristian Stanfill & Passion, “More Like Jesus,” recorded 2018, track 6 on Whole Heart Live, Digital and Compact Disc.]

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    **Assignment Details**
Understanding a company’s financial health is necessary for making informed business decisions. By examining financial statements and ratios and comparing a company’s performance to industry averages, one can understand how well an organization manages resources, controls costs, and generates profits. Analyzing financial data reveals a company’s strengths and weaknesses and highlights potential growth and improvement areas. It is also needed to support an organization’s long-term success.
For this assignment, you will conduct a financial analysis of the same company you selected for the Unit 2 Individual Project – AMAZON. This analysis will give you a better understanding of the company’s financial health and performance. Follow the steps below to complete this assignment. Locate and download the company’s two most recent annual reports. You will use these reports to find data for your financial analysis.
    **Finding the Annual Report**
To find the company’s annual report, start by visiting the company's official Web site. Look for a section labeled "Investor Relations" or "Investors," often located at the bottom of the home page. In this section, you should find links to financial reports, including annual reports. The reports are typically organized by year and can be downloaded in PDF format.
Another option is to search the company’s name followed by "annual report" in a search engine. This often leads you directly to the report on their Web site. For U.S. public companies, you can also access annual reports (known as _10-K filings_) through the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR database at this page: [Search Filings](https://www.sec.gov/search-filings). This provides free access to official filings.
    **Financial Ratios**
You can review the following articles to help you with selecting your financial ratios:
    – [Financial Ratios](https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/accounting/financial-ratios/)
    – [What is Net Profit Margin? Formula and Examples](https://www.investopedia.com/terms/n/net_margin.asp)
Now, follow the outline below and address the items in each section. Download the assignment template: [Unit 3 IP Template](https://resources.careered.com/LCMSFileSharePreview/Resources/MSWordDocument/MGMT498_Unit3_IP_Template%2005-27-2025.docx)
**Company Overview:** Provide a brief overview of 1–2 paragraphs of your chosen company. Include what it does, its main products or services, and any other relevant background information. This context will set the stage for your analysis.
    – **Financial Ratios:**Select one financial ratio from each of the following categories for analysis:
    – Liquidity ratios (such as current ratio or quick ratio)
    – Leverage ratios (such as debt–equity ratio or debt ratio)
    – Profitability ratios (such as gross margin or net profit margin)
    > After selecting your ratios, create a table that presents the chosen ratios for the company’s last 2 years. Your table should list the company name, the year, and the specific value of each ratio.
    – **Ratio Analysis:** Write an analysis of these three ratios. Explain what each ratio measures and why it is significant in your analysis. Discuss how the company performed in each ratio over the past 2 years. Interpret what these results mean for its financial health.
    – **Income Statement Analysis:** Conduct an income statement analysis by reviewing the income statements from the 2 most recent years of the annual reports. Focus on gross margin, operating margin, and net margin. Compare these margins to the industry average to determine whether the company is performing above or below the standard. Explain what these comparisons reveal about the company’s profitability and operational efficiency.
    > You can find industry information by reviewing the annual report, searching the Internet, and using [Statista](https://www.statista.com/).
    – **Financial Health:** Summarize the company’s overall financial condition. Use insights from your ratio analysis and income statement findings to assess its strengths, weaknesses, and potential areas for improvement. Make sure you provide at least one area for improvement and explain why.
