Disseminating research findings is an essential phase of the research cycle, a key component of research activities, fundamental part of research workflow, guaranteeing that new insights inform scholarly, healthcare, or policy progress. Effective dissemination enhances the influence of research, by providing insights to target recipients, such as healthcare professionals, decision-makers, academic peers, and the general population. This process involves selecting suitable methods and platforms customized for specific groups, simplifying detailed findings into usable guidance and encouraging involvement.
    **Publishing in Peer-Reviewed Journals**
One of the most established and esteemed approaches to distributing research results is through submission to academic journals subjected to expert review. This method also confirms the research through critical appraisal by specialists but also renders the results available to a broad spectrum of experts in the discipline. Choosing an appropriate journal that matches the subject matter and intended readership is vital for optimizing influence (Harrison et al., 2022).
    **Conference Presentations and Posters**
Presenting at professional conferences allows researchers to share findings with colleagues, receive feedback, and foster collaborations. Such events feature diverse presentation styles, like verbal briefings, visual posters, and thematic panels, catering to varied studies and attendees. These settings also support relationship-building and information sharing outside scheduled presentations (Brownson et al., 2023).
    **Partnerships with Community Organizations**
Professional societies and healthcare organizations can help promote the spread of research outcomes. Such organizations can magnify the impact of research and assist in translating evidence into routine application. Within clinical investigations, working alongside hospital groups or governmental health bodies is crucial for affecting practice standards and informing policy.
    **Digital Platforms and Social Media**
With the rise of digital technology, platforms like social media and online communities serve as effective means for broadcasting research outcomes. Scholars are able distribute overviews, graphical abstracts, and direct connections to their publications via platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, and ResearchGate. This method broadens the audience and encourages interaction between professionals and the public (Harrison et al., 2022).
    **Educational Materials and Training**
Creating learning materials such as toolkits, protocols, or instructional units assists in applying research to real-world settings. These resources aid the adoption of results and may be incorporated into staff training initiatives or academic modules.
    **Conclusion**
Sharing research outcomes encompasses more than just releasing publications. This process calls for a purposeful, recipient-oriented method that embraces various channels and active collaboration with stakeholders. Scholars need to act in advance, think imaginatively, and adapt to the expectations of their audience to achieve substantial influence.

    Understanding Person's chi-square test
The Pearson chi-square test functions as a statistical tool which evaluates the existence of significant relationships between two categorical variables. The test evaluates the observed category of frequencies in data against expected frequencies when variables show independence. The chi-squared test of Pearson serves to evaluate three different types of comparisons which include goodness of fit, homogeneity, and independence. A test of goodness of fit determines whether the observed frequency distribution deviates from the theoretical distribution. The test establishes whether observed differences stem from random chance or indicate a real connection between variables. The chi-square test of independence functions as a Pearson chi-square test to evaluate whether two categorical variables show independence or relationships. The test helps establish if gender influences product preference or if handedness affects nationality. The test evaluates whether observed category frequency combinations deviate significantly from expected frequencies when variables show no relationship. (Farina, 2021)
_The data is arranged in a contingency table which shows the observed frequencies of each combination of categories. The test_ _determines_ _expected frequencies for all table cells based on the assumption that the variables are independent. The Pearson chi-square statistic (χ²) is computed through the process of dividing the squared differences between observed and expected frequencies by the expected frequencies for all cells in the table. The calculated χ² value serves to_ _determine_ _the p-value which shows the chance of finding such differences or more extreme differences when the variables are independent. The null hypothesis of independence gets rejected when the p-value falls below the typical significance level of_ _0.05,_ _which_ _indicates_ _a statistically significant association._ _(Farina, 2021)_
_The chi-square test shows sensitivity to sample size because bigger samples tend to produce statistically significant results even when the size is small. The test does not_ _establish_ _causality; it only_ _indicates_ _an association between variables. The test requires verification of its assumptions, which include categorical variables and expected frequencies that must be 1 or higher. The chi-square test exists in multiple forms including the chi-square test of homogeneity, so it is crucial to_ _identify_ _the test being applied._ _(Longe, 2022)_
The chi-square test functions as a statistical tool which evaluates observed data against predicted results. The main goal of this test is to establish whether observed data differences from expected data result from random chance or from actual relationships between studied variables. (Longe, 2022)
_The Chi-square test conclusion_ _emerges_ _from comparing the calculated Chi-square statistic to critical values_ _established_ _by degrees of freedom and significance level (alpha). The null hypothesis gets rejected when the calculated Chi-square value exceeds the critical value because this_ _indicates_ _a significant difference between observed and expected frequencies. The null hypothesis_ _remains_ _unchallenged when the calculated Chi-square value does not exceed the critical value._ _(Farina, 2021)_

**My Reflection on Healthcare Policy and Nursing Practice**
This course has greatly expanded my awareness of the complex ways that healthcare policy influences clinical practice, patient outcomes, and access to resources. Previously, I saw policy exclusively as administrative regulation. Now I understand that policies affect all levels of care, from nurse staffing ratios to insurance qualifying standards. One example that influenced my profession was the introduction of telehealth services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Policy improvements at the state and federal levels enabled coverage for virtual visits, significantly improving access for marginalized populations, particularly the elderly and chronically ill patients who previously faced transportation or mobility hurdles.
The course has also helped me understand the role of Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) in shaping policy and delivery systems. APNs are not only providers, but also important legislative stakeholders who may advocate for increased access, quality, and equity in care. I see myself being involved in healthcare advocacy by joining professional nursing organizations, participating in public comment periods on proposed regulations, and educating patients and colleagues on policies that affect health equity.
Going forward, I intend to incorporate this knowledge into my everyday practice by subscribing to respected policy bulletins (such as those published by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners) and attending local legislative sessions whenever possible. I'll also make it a point to assess how new recommendations or reforms effect care delivery, documentation, and patient access, especially in primary care and underprivileged populations.
This course aided both personal and professional development. I now feel more comfortable discussing healthcare issues, advocating for change, and acknowledging the value of collective nurse voices. It has shaped me into a more knowledgeable leader—one who recognizes that in today's complicated healthcare environment, clinical expertise must be combined with policy understanding to promote effective reform.

Over the past few weeks, my view of healthcare policies and how they shape patient care has evolved. I have also come to observe access to services and clinical outcomes with greater mastery and critical thinking. I understand that policies are not distant or unrelated norms, but rather that each law or regulation is a path we must understand in order to act professionally and, above all, to ensure the greatest possible equity, as we understand the barriers that exist in this regard. An example is the expansion of Medicaid under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA, 2021). This allowed for increased health coverage in at-risk populations, especially in areas where the expansion had not previously been implemented. In my immediate environment, based on my personal experience, I noticed that treatment continuity improved for patients with chronic conditions thanks to broader access to medications and specialized visits ( Torrens, 2020).
This knowledge, acquired during these weeks, made me want to become an advanced practice nurse (APRN) and policy advocate for the underserved. I understand that there is much work to be done to defend the rights of those affected by legal barriers, and I would like to contribute perspectives that address the challenges that persist. Medicare reimbursement criteria reform is one of the topics that most interest me because it can include nurse-led interventions. This allows for the comprehensive management of chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes or heart failure. Elvidge (2024) points out that the involvement of APNs in these types of settings reduces costs and achieves better results with more favorable outcomes ( Elvidge, 2024).
To integrate the knowledge from the course, I plan to stay up-to-date through the Kaiser Family Foundation newsletters and participation in other organizations such as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). We also have access to health policy conferences and congresses where representatives of our specialty advocate for laws that are more favorable to the work done by underserved populations.
I can affirm that I experienced professional growth that enriched me as a professional. I feel more prepared as a healthcare provider and as an advocate for change. In the future, I want to participate in local legislative initiatives because I understand that through our profession, we can transform realities.

    Introduction

One concern about visual presentations is that the technology used to create them can be used in such a way that it actually detracts from the message rather than enhances it. To help you consider carefully how your message is presented so that it reflects care, quality, and professionalism, consider the information provided in the remaining slides.

NOTE: This presentation serves as an example in itself, by utilizing all of the guidelines mentioned.

    ### Introduction

Create a 6–8 slide presentation (with detailed speaker's notes) on how you would select, foster collaboration among, and educate a team dedicated to solving a diversity issue.

Assessments 3 and 4 are based on the same scenario, so you must complete them in the order in which they are presented.

Finding, organizing, and motivating teams is a key leadership skill as is the ability to communicate and present information.

    **Overview**

In this assessment, you will continue your work from Assessment 3 by creating a 6–8 slide PowerPoint presentation for the diversity project kickoff meeting.

    **Preparation**

    · Review the
[Guidelines for Effective PowerPoint Presentations [PPTX]](https://lat.strategiced.com/redirect?linkid=3639) for guidelines and hints for an effective presentation.

    · Use the
[PowerPoint Template [PPTX]](https://courseroom.capella.edu/courses/44589/files/8289905/download) to complete this assessment.

    **Scenario**

Imagine that your boss Lynnette follows up with you in an email shortly after reading your views on leadership and collaboration:

    _Hi,_

Thanks for sending me your thoughts last week on the diversity issue at the clinic. Your next step is to select a team of professionals who can help you in this project and prepare an introduction of the project for a first meeting with them.

I want you to prepare a presentation to serve as a brief but substantive introduction for the first meeting with a group of 4–5 members who will participate on the committee tasked with addressing the diversity issue. Once I review more information about the proposed team I can help you with the recruitment. The presentation should be 6–8 slides with detailed speaker's notes so I can understand your approach. Not a lot of time or space, so keep things pretty high level. Do the following:

    1.
**Briefly outline the project goals and highlight 2–3 of the initial priorities to be addressed by the group. Also, explain why they are important.**

    2.
**Explain the composition of the team and why you chose them.** Note that you will not know the exact individuals yet, but assume we will recruit the people with the desired qualities and characteristics you outline in the presentation. Consider the following:

    · Include a group of professionals you believe can help define the problem and ultimately make recommendations on how to address it.

    · Make sure each member is either trained in, sensitive to, or has experience with the concept of workplace diversity.

    · Give some thought to having some members from outside the organization.

    · Provide member profiles: their diversity, qualifications, experience, internal versus external, and so forth.

    3.
**Explain your role and describe how the committee will work together and achieve effective interprofessional collaboration.**

    · Describe how the group will communicate. How and when they will meet.

    · Describe how ideas will be shared and decisions made.

    · Describe roles, group function, and structure.

    4.
**Describe the basic characteristics of a diverse workplace.**

    5.
**Provide a convincing argument regarding the benefits of a diverse workforce using support from current research.**

    Thanks,

    Lynnette

    **Instructions**

    For this assessment:

    · Create a 6–8 slide PowerPoint presentation in response to the content defined in the above scenario.

**Note**: If you require the use of assistive technology or alternative communication methods to participate in this activity, please contact
    [DisabilityServices@Capella.edu](mailto:DisabilityServices@Capella.edu) to request accommodations.

    **Presentation Guidelines**

Your assessment should also meet the following requirements:

    ·
**Length**: 6–8 PowerPoint slides (not including title slide and reference slide).

    ·
**Notes**: Prepare detailed speaker's notes describing items on each slide so that the viewer can accurately interpret the deeper meanings and intentions that would have been conveyed orally. Support your claims, arguments, and conclusions with credible evidence from 2–3 current, scholarly or professional sources.

    ·
**Visuals**: Create visuals that are easily read and interpreted. Use colors, fonts, and formatting and other design principles that make the information clear and generally add to the aesthetic of the presentation.

    **What to Submit**

Save your PowerPoint presentation as a PDF with notes so the speaker notes will be processed through Turnitin. You can use the following resource for instructions:

    ·
[Save PowerPoint Presentations As PDF files](https://capella.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/leganto/public/01CAPELLA_INST/lists/3035197270006731?auth=SAML&section=3929969640006731).

Please refer to the scoring guide for details on how your assessment will be evaluated.

**Example Assessment**: You may use the following to give you an idea of what a Proficient or higher rating on the scoring guide would look like:

    ·

    Guidelines for Effective PowerPoint Presentations
