    – ## 650Module8CreateaVideoTutorial.docx

    **## 650Module8CreateaVideoTutorial.docx**

    **Description:**

**Video Tutorial is an versatile tool as applied to education. It can be used in the flipped classroom environment when student watch a video lesson prior to coming to class. Also, video tutorials can be played back during class session to reinforce and illustrate topics covered. Finally, it allows students to go back and review the learned concept at their own time and at a desired pace.**

**Record a video using a screen recorder, camcorder or a smartphone on the topic of your choice (including the one you used for your previous projects).**

**Your talking head should be recorded and appear on the video similar to the recordings that I am posting as the instructions.**

**Then, turn your video footage to a Video Tutorial as follows:**

**Step 1**: Review the Final Product Requirements:

    1. Your final video tutorial should be 5+ minutes long.
**This is a how-to video and it should address a topic in the grade that you teach or would like to teach.**

    2. The tutorial should start with 5-second introductory segment (title), and end with 5-second concluding segment (credits), both can be built in PowerPoint

    3. The original video footage and segments (title and credits) should be combined together, and all imperfections cut off by using a video editor program.

Both PC and Apple users can download free OpenShot video editor by CLICKING HERE (Links to an external site.).

Apple users can use the built-in iMovie video editor instead.

Optional Step: It is best practice to add captions to your videos for accessibility. For this project, you will earn bonus points if you are able to add captions to your video. Each screen recording tool we've explored and YouTube have captioning features.

    4. The resulting video tutorial should be exported from the video editor into an independent video file in .mp4 format.

**Step 2**: Upload your Video Tutorial to Google Drive and then link it to your Google Classroom

Here are instructions for publishing a video via the screen recording tools we shared in earlier pages of this module
    [Loom](https://support.loom.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002208157-How-to-share-your-recording), Screencastify , Screencast-o-Matic

**Step 3**: Create a shareable link to your Video Tutorial page on Google Classroom, and submit it by clicking on the title of the assignment.

    – ## Community.pdf

    **## Community.pdf**

One of the best ways to determine what your community needs, and what your students
may need, is to talk to those who are directly impacted by our decisions and actions. A
second way, of course, is to research other educational programs, businesses, and
political aspects of our environment, currently and in the future.

So let’s do all three – research, talk, and reflect upon these elements. Please feel free to
add any other measures that you feel could be used to determine potential impact upon
your students and their educational program.

We are looking far into the future now, rather than in the decade timeframe often used
for strategic planning. But to look into the future, we have to start where we are.

For this formative assessment, you get to expand your thinking (and your
    personal/professional network).

Review the information provided in the articles and materials provided AS WELL AS any
other content that you may have discovered in your consideration of futuristic needs for
    educational programs.

    ● Investigate the future trends and issues that may occur. And do this through
    research, discussion and reflection.

    ● Conduct 3-5 interviews with people who have knowledge that could impact
the direction of your workplace. Consider your supervisor and those above
him / her, community members, higher institution faculty / leadership.

The focus of your interviews should be on anticipated future trends and issues that will
impact the work of your institution (ie: educational programming, services provided, day
    to day operations)

From your interviews (print, email, audio, notes, etc.) synthesize a set of potential
issues or trends that may impact your institution.

The formatting of your synthesis is your choice: presentation, listing with narrative, chart
    with explanatory text, etc.

Submit your synthesis, with APA formatted citations and references.
