    Meet with your group quickly and settle on an organization and specific situation the group will research for the first week. Your goal for each assignment is to choose a high-profile crisis which has occurred within the last few months. You need to be able to reference as much fresh information as possible, so choose a large organization and an impactful crisis situation. **Your group will choose a different organization/crisis to research for each research brief. Do not continue researching the same crisis you used in Week 1 or Week 2.**
    For background information, I suggest you research the organization and relevant industry through the SWU Library. Then move on to the specific crisis, covered in the recent business press. Heather Gray is a wonderful source for you in the SWU Library.
    Let me remind you that you will be researching and writing about the business implications of the crisis you have chosen. There are many human and societal consequences from every large crisis, but don’t get distracted – stay focused on the organization you chose and its institutional and individual responses to the crisis.
    **Deliverable:**
    **Have only one teammate upload the Word document in Canvas**. **Do not upload a PDF file.**
    A three-page (exclusive of title page, reference page, appendices, etc.) executive brief on the organization and specific crisis is due **Sunday night at midnight ET**. See a suggested template below. Assume your group has prepared this information over the last several days for presentation to senior level management. Each in brief should be APA formatted, double-spaced, with a minimum of three quality reference articles with appropriate in-text citations. The references must be appropriately cited and placed in a references page per APA requirements.
    I urge you to spend quality time with your team this week. The more work you put in during the first week, the smoother the rest of the term will go for your research.

    The situation at the regional Good Health Hospital has become overwhelming since the outbreak of COVID-19. It appears there are 15 cases of the disease with more cases each day.
    To better understand the situation, the hospital has been in constant communication with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
    After a meeting yesterday with the chief administrator, Joe Wellborn, it has been decided that a more detailed process must be created to manage the situation.
    Research has indicated that hospitals operating in the Tampa Bay area are also filling up to their capacity with COVID-19 patients. This substantiates the need for further communication and collaboration with the county and state health departments.
    As a health care manager, it is your job to both manage the situation and make a detailed record of the circumstances and your process in a report from an epidemiological management perspective.
    ## **Instructions**
    For this assignment, create a PowerPoint presentation with 6-7 slides for the hospital administration outlining the steps to be taken to manage the situation. Please include the following:
    1. Summarize the roles and responsibilities of those involved in the response to the situation summarized above.
    2. Include the key elements when addressing the situation in a hospital.
    3. Summarize two specific actions an epidemiological manager would take to prevent future occurrences.
    4. Outline who should be notified and what information needs to be sent in each notification. This may include local and state health agencies as well as the CDC.
    5. Each slide should contain speaker notes. Be sure to use your own words and cite where necessary.
