    ### Peer Response
    #### Instructions:
Please read and respond to at least two of your peers' initial responses.
Review the plans posted by your peers from your advanced practice nursing role perspective (educator, leader or nurse practitioner).  From this mindset, reflect upon a discussion you would like to have with your colleagues about their plan.
    For example:
    – If you are a nurse educator (clinical or academic) what are your thoughts about the patient education provided in the plan, or do you want to comment on or add to the education provided?
    – If you a nurse leader what are your thoughts about the risk profile or cost effectiveness of the plan.?
    – If you are a nurse practitioner did your peer develop a plan that aligns with evidence-based practice and current clinical guidelines? Etc.
Please be sure to validate your opinions and ideas with citations and references in APA format.
    ### Reply from Daniel Munoz
Unit 1: Management of the Asthma Patient
The diagnosis of our patient in this scenario is Mild Persistent Asthma. The patient currently exhibits symptoms more than twice a week, reports awakening at night more than twice per month, and uses her albuterol inhaler an average of three times a week. Due to the signs and symptoms she is reporting, she may need some medication adjustments to her regimen to control her asthma. Adolescents with mild persistent asthma who are not well controlled on a low-dose inhaled corticosteroid can benefit from adding a long-acting beta antagonist to their medication regimen (Arcangelo & Peterson, 2021). The treatment I would recommend would include Budesonide-formoterol (Symbicort) 160/4.5mcg. One puff twice a day and one puff as needed for breakthrough symptoms. Special instructions include always rinsing the mouth after use to prevent oral thrush. This plan, also known as the SMART approach, has been proven to reduce exacerbations and improve control in adolescents and adults. SMART stands for Single Maintenance And Reliever Therapy. Symbicort also works quickly and lasts up to 12 hours, making it an effective quick reliever and a PRN to use when needed. The patient education I would provide about the treatment plan would be ensuring the patient knows the proper inhaler technique. Patients often do not know the proper technique, and allowing them to demonstrate or teach back what they were taught is the only way to know for sure. Furthermore, by engaging in patient teaching, we can discuss the symptoms to report and how to avoid common asthma triggers, such as dust. Regarding follow up, I will follow up with my patient in four to six weeks, depending on how the symptoms are, and assess how the new medication regimen is currently controlling her asthma. If no improvement has occurred or symptoms have worsened, it may be necessary to look into possible allergy triggers and refer the patient to an allergist.

    ### Reply from Cori Studzinski
I would agree with the diagnosis of asthma for this patient. According to the Global Initiative for Asthma Symptom control the patient does not have well controlled asthma as evidenced by her needing her rescue inhaler 3 times a week and waking up with asthma symptoms 2 times per week (Arcangelo, 2021).
According to Arcangelo (2021), every patient with asthma should be prescribed an ICS-containing controller drug. She is currently taking beclomethasone dipropionate which does not seem to be controlling her asthma well. I think it is worth switching this medication to Fluticasone Propionate MDI 110 mcg/inhalation 2 puffs twice daily. She should continue with the rescue inhaler of albuterol 90 mcg/inhalation 2 puffs every 4 hours as needed for shortness of breath or wheezing.
This patient also needs an asthma action plan which will help her to monitor symptoms and treat accordingly. The importance of medication adherence is also something that I would touch on so that the medications have the best chance of controlling her asthma. She would also benefit from seeing a pulmonary specialist since she is already on an ICS-containing controller drug and it is not adequately controlling her symptoms. I would want to follow up with this patient after 2-3 months since according to Arcangelo (2021), most inhaled controller drugs will not show the best results until 3-4 months after taking them. They recommend follow up initially at 1-3 months and then every 3-12 months after.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

You must write the code files by hand for all assignments in this class. A simple text editor, such as Notepad or Notepad++ will suffice. DO NOT use web page programs, such as FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc. You must write the code for your web pages yourself.
Make sure all of your web pages (HTML files) comply with the HTML 5 standards. DO NOT use deprecated (outdated) tags and attributes from previous versions of HTML. By including the HTML 5 DOCTYPE declaration in your webpages, and [validating](http://validator.w3.org/) all of your HTML files, you can be sure that your code complies with HTML 5.
Make sure all of your style sheets (CSS files) comply with the CSS3 standards. By ensuring that all of your CSS files (and any HTML files containing embedded CSS) [validate](http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/), you can be sure that your code complies with CSS3.
You are encouraged to test all of your web pages at the [W3C mobile OK Checker](http://validator.w3.org/mobile). Keep in mind that all pages of your website must pass validation on the W3C mobile OK Checker when you submit your website for the Final Project at the end of Week 8. Therefore, if you can test your pages each week and begin correcting any errors that you find, you will have less work to do during the final week of the course to ensure your web pages pass validation on the W3C mobile OK Checker before submitting your Final Project.
Create your files using a text editor, such as Notepad or Notepad++, and name the main page (home page of your website) "LastFirstAssignment6.html" where "Last" is your last name and "First" is your first name. For example, if your name is John Smith, you would name your main file SmithJohnAssignment6.html
    **Instructions:**
This week you will add an HTML5 cross-browser compatible form to your website. Please add a new HTML page containing the form to your website, and be sure to add the page to your navigation menus and link it into each of the other pages of your website. If there were any errors in your website in weeks 1-5, please make sure you correct them before re-submitting your files for this week's assignment. Continue to build on the website you created in weeks 1-5. You should be creating an informative website about any topic that interests you. Make sure that you write the content (the paragraphs of information about your topic) yourself. Do not copy content from other web pages. Your website should contain at least 4-6 paragraphs of information, arranged in a logical manner (appropriately using headings and sub-headings, as well as HTML5 structure elements). Do not re-use webpages or webpage content that you have already used for a grade in a previous course, such as WEBD121. Although the skills you gained in other courses will give you a good foundation to build upon in this class, you are expected to create original work for this course, using new content and new code that you learn in this course. Use this as an opportunity to teach me something new about a topic which you are knowledgeable about!
Your website (HTML files) must include all of the following:
    1. Correctly uses all basic HTML 5 tags, such as HTML 5 DOCTYPE declaration; html, head, and body tags; charset, author, keywords, and description meta tags; title tags; and HTML5 structure elements (found in Table 1-2 of Lesson 1 of your textbook). In particular, be sure to use each structure element correctly, containing information appropriate for that type of structure element.
    2. In the body section of your document, include all seven HTML5 structure elements from Table 1-2 of Lesson 1 of your textbook. Be sure to use each structure element correctly, containing information appropriate for that type of structure element.
    3. Website contains at least four HTML pages with a total of 4-6 paragraphs of well-written, well-thought-out content.
    4. Images, hyperlinks, and other HTML elements appropriate to your page.
    5. A cross-browser compatible form incorporating a variety of HTML5 form input types (10 different types minimum), including at least three of the new input types listed in Table 8-1 in Lesson 8.
    6. [Validate](http://validator.w3.org/) all HTML files and fix any errors that the validator identifies before submitting your assignment.
Your style sheets (CSS files) must include all of the following:
    1. Correctly coded CSS3 selectors and properties, including a variety of background properties, border properties, font properties, text effects, and advanced CSS3 techniques.
    2. [Validate](http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/) all CSS files (and all HTML files that contain embedded CSS) and fix any errors that the validator identifies before submitting your assignment.

Share with us some of your personal and cultural identities. Please share 6 aspects of yourself with the group. Here are some identity categories, for example:
    – Cultural Heritage(s)
    – Nationality(-ies)
    – Family
    – Race/Ethnicity
    – Religion/Religious influences
    – Sexual Identity
    – Disability Status
    – Language Community(-ies)
    – Character trait(s)
Do any of these identities relate to one another, if so, how? What would a person who reads about your identity be able to reveal about you? What would a person who reads about your identity not be able to tell about you? Do any of your cultural identity groups practice allyship? If they do not practice allyship, how might they engage in activities to be more inclusive and equitable?

    _Prompt #3_
People have different views of cultural competency, cultural inclusion, and what a fully inclusive community, space, or society might be like. Share what diversity, equity, and inclusion mean to you and why they are important.
Select one space or community to which you belong and assess it for equity, inclusion, and diversity. For example, this space or community can be something like your Facebook group of friends, a religious organization, your family, a classroom, or your workplace.
How important is acknowledging and supporting diversity and diverse perspectives within this group? What is done to make sure everyone feels included? How might you advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion with people in this group who do not understand its importance?
