    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    #### **Getting Started**
Go to [Supreme Court Procedure](http://www.scotusblog.com/reference/educational-resources/supreme-court-procedure) and read through the article. Many argue that the process is too long; that it takes too much time for a case to be heard by the US Supreme Court. They believe the Supreme Court needs to be more responsive to the needs of the American public. Others believe that the length of time it takes to go through the process is appropriate; that the Court should not react too quickly to changes in society. They believe the Supreme Court provides continuity and stability, and changes that are announced by the Court come after long and careful deliberation.
    #### **Assignment**
After you have reviewed the hypothetical Lyon v. Animal House Zoo case,
    1. Identify all of the participants in the case and their respective roles.
    2. In your opinion, is the process too long, or is a deliberative process appropriate? Provide a complete (balanced) explanation using examples from the hypothetical case. Your assignment should be around 200 words.

    ## Project Overview

    200 points

The purpose of the final project is to assess your ability to apply the concepts of your coursework to activities related to measurement and single case design. You are given several weeks to work on the project. While the current course may not have covered all of the material at this time, you should begin looking over the sections and begin answering questions related to the content you have been exposed to. That being said, it is also important not to wait until the last week to begin working on the project. The final section of the project should consider your area of interest – especially if you want to move on to Advanced Single Case Design, where you will create a real proposal with an introduction and methods section.

    ## Research Questions and Variables

    **15 points**

    1. Read the following passage from Lora and Kisamore (2019)
    **:**

_The purpose of the current study was to evaluate the efficacy of errorless teaching, prompt delay, reinforcement, and multiple exemplar training on the acquisition, generalization, maintenance, and independent use of a problem‐solving strategy that involved a textual/pictorial activity schedule with four adolescents with ASD._

    Answer the following questions:

    a) What is/are the independent variable(s) (2 points)?

    b) What is/are the dependent variable(s) (2 points)?

    c) Who are the participants (1 point)?

    2. Write a demonstration research question (5 points).

    3. Write a parametric research question (5 points).

    ## Reliability

    **20 points**

    4. You are asked to take IOA on some
[recorded video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNWIhaQks74) of dogs barking. The BCBA tells you to “
**_Count the barks_**” You are Observer 2 in the table below. First, watch the video and enter your observations in the table.

    | Dog 5 (Shihtzu) | 40 | | |
    | Dog 6 (Doberman) | 23 | | |

    a) Calculate
**Total Count IOA** for each dog and add to the table above. (5 points)

    b) Did any of the (6) observations meet criteria for the conventional criteria for acceptable agreement (as defined by the Cooper et al. text)? Explain. (5 points)

    c) Did you notice anything difficult about obtaining the count? What would you suggest be improved to rectify this situation? (5 points)

    d) Now we are going to use the same data from above, but pretend that instead of dogs barking, you and Observer 1 calculated interval data. Place your same data from your Observer 2 column and enter the same percentages in the 4th column in the second table below.

    b) What is/are the independent variable(s)? (5 points)

    c) Who is the population? (5 points)

    d) Describe the IOA collection and results. Did IOA help the experimenters adjust any errors? Please elaborate. (10 points)

    e) What design was used? (2 points).

    ## Implementing Designs

    **40 Points**

    6. You would like to increase a client’s compliance with evaluating their glucose levels more times throughout the day, in order to better control their diabetes. What design would you select and why? (10 points)

    7. You would like to see the effects that a new computer app has on all (3) of your children’s ability to read site words. What design would you select and why? (10 points)

    8. You would like to determine if classical music or techno helps you write more pages of your dissertation. What design would you select and why? (10 points).

    9. You want to compare the effects of forward and backward chaining on cooking skills. What design would you select and why?

    ## Designing Research

    **Background Information:**
When studying the different religions of the world we tend of focus on the distinctions between these religions and understanding what makes them unique, however it is important to note that although these religions are distinct and unique in their own way, there are common themes and structures that can be applied to them. Some of the common elements present in the different religions that we will be studying this semester are:
    – **Sacred Scriptures and Sacred Writings**
    – Divinely inspired writings that contain origins of the religion, essential beliefs, and major teachings. Some religions also revere writings of prominent figures throughout their history who have contributed to expounding the theology of the religion (ex: writings of the Islamic saints)
    – **Beliefs and Practices**
    – Tenets of the religion that unify its community of believers on a variety of topics ranging from their relationship with the divine, soteriology, creation, eschatology, anthropology, etc.
    – **Prayer and Worship**
    – Liturgical practices that believers of the faith participate in throughout their daily lives. Some liturgical practices and rituals of prayer are performed in conjunction with the celebration of religious festivals at particular times of the week (ex: Sabbath) or times of the year (ex: Christmas)
    – **Morality – Code of Ethics**
    – Guiding principles that adherents of the faith abide by throughout their lives informed by the theology of the religion
    – **History**
    – Understanding how the religion was established and the advances of the religion throughout human history that shape the global image of the religion today while also recognizing changes in theology that have occurred throughout history due to major historical events
    **Instructions:**
In your reading of Chapter 12 – _Encountering Islam: The Straight Path of the One God,_ you have gained a better understanding of what the religion of Islam is all about from the context of its history, sacred scriptures, beliefs and practices, code of ethics, etc. You will now use the information gleaned in the chapter to expand upon particular elements of Islam enumerated below:
    1. **Islamic Symbols and Names (.5 pages)**
    1. Identify a common Islamic symbol and explain its significance
    1. Consider the following:
    1. History/Origins of the symbol
    2. Important religious figure(s) associated with the symbol and their involvement with it
    3. How is the symbol utilized by Muslims today?
    1. Is it used during prayer/worship?
    2. Is it worm as an outward sign of faith?

There is a method how to use and what the main question under the pdf named WORKSHOP5 .Run according to pdf and after that follow the under points .And dont forget to put photos per cases.
This is an extra credit project – an opportunity to learn practical fluid mechanics career skills.
    1. Run the manifold example from class as your "baseline" case for reference.  Experiment with changing the output plots and data that are available.
    2. There are hundreds of input parameters that make CFD run.  Experiment with some of them and see the results.
    3. Select 4 specific inputs that have an appreciable or significant impact in changing the results.
    4. Run 4 cases, changing each of the 4 inputs – one at a time.
    5. Compare results from each of the 4 runs with your baseline reference case.  For example – compare streamlines, pressures, velocities, etc.
    6. Research why the results changed the way they did.
    7. Prepare a Word document describing your results.  For each of the 4 cases, describe:
    1. why did you chose changing this particular input?
    2. include plot(s) from the CFD comparing results to baseline.
    3. use science to explain why you believe the results changed.
    8. upload the Word doc (doc or docx file format) to this assignment link by the due date and time (Sunday 20 July at noon.)
No specific page length or work count is required.  Quality is more important than quantity.  It is certainly possible to communicate effective mastery of knowledge with relatively few words.  On the other hand, it is also possible to write many pages and not explain much.  However, it is anticipated that at least 1 to 1.5 pages, per case, would be reasonably required to articulate your results using words and graphs.  Thus, a reasonable total page count target would somewhere in the 4 to 6 page range.
Original work is expected for credit.  Cheating by copying other students work or plagiarizing the internet is unreasonable.  No extra credit is offered if your work significantly matches another student's work, or the internet is plagiarized.  Your submission will be checked for AI content and plagiarism
